Title: Nuclear Reaction Studies Using Weakly Bound Projectiles

Abstract:

In this talk I present theoretical and computational advances in nuclear reaction studies involving weakly bound projectiles, developing sophisticated quantum mechanical models to investigate exotic nuclei structure and dynamics. Our newly developed COLOSS code employs the complex scaling method for elastic scattering with Coulomb and nuclear potentials, demonstrating excellent agreement with experimental data. To address computational challenges in parameter estimation, we implement eigenvector continuation as an emulation method for reaction observables, achieving 100× speedup for uncertainty quantification in optical potentials.

For three-body systems, we developed SWIFT.jl for coordinate-space Faddeev equations and STARS for CDCC calculations using the R-matrix method with nonlocal potential support. We extended the Ichimura-Austern-Vincent (IAV) model by incorporating CDCC wave functions through our SMOOTHIE code, moving beyond standard DWBA approximation to provide improved descriptions of inclusive breakup reactions where conventional methods break down.

These computational tools enable efficient investigation of weakly bound systems crucial for nuclear astrophysics and fundamental nuclear physics research.

金磊,同济大学物理科学与工程学院教授、博士生导师。2016年在西班牙塞维利亚大学获得博士学位,2016-2020年先后在俄亥俄大学及意大利 INFN-Pisa从事博士后研究,2020年入职同济大学,2021年入选国家级高层次青年人才计划。金磊教授从事量子少体理论、大爆炸核合成、原子核反应、及原子核的第一性原理计算等方面研究,在PRL、PLB等高水平期刊发表学术论50余篇。
